Shay Cafe And Lounge

Great local spot for breakfast! Reasonable prices, full menu from omelets to Benedicts, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches and more. We were looking for something different than the typical hotel buffet and weren’t finding many independent options. We walked to this cafe and were not disappointed. The owner was there and friendly, service was on point and food was good! Plenty of covered outdoor seating and inside options too if you prefer.

Overall solid breakfast! 7/10- I wasn’t sure if we ordered at the front or with a server but the answer is to order at the register and then pick a table. Also they aren’t pet friendly even on the patio (no bueno). For the food…I got the eggs Benedict tomato/spinach(6/10) , and my husband got 3 fluffy pancakes (8/10). We also got mimosa (7/10) and a Bloody Mary (6/10)Service was fast and friendly. Would try a sandwich next time instead probably.

I would give it a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend this place. There was one guy who really stood out and set the bar high. I'm not sure if he was the owner or not, but he made it a point to go to every table and greet everyone. When he came to our group, he took the time to get to know us a little and even recommended some cool things to do on the island. I wish I knew his name, but he was great. Additionally, the food was also fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious dishes they served. Furthermore, when we accidentally spilled a drink at our table, another staff member promptly helped clean it up. The service was amazing, and I wish we could have gone a second time.

We really enjoyed this place - food was delicious just as the reviews said. Customer service was also great. Staff had really been trained on being friendly to customers - which was uncommon at most of the other places we went to. We ordered the popular oatmeal and it lived up to the hype. We also ordered savory crepes and they were delicious.

We tried Shay’s for breakfast after our taxi driver recommended it. Amazing experience! We got the banana French toast, croissant egg sandwich, and scrambled eggs. All were great. If you happen to run into the owner, he is great to talk to! Try this place out!
